The Smoothie Queens
So I'm writing a major short-story right now, but I'm also writing this crap called Star on the side. Summary:
Hadley Wellington is a star. Rita Willow wants to be a star. Hadley Wellington divides her time between her New York City apartment and her Los Angeles beach house. Rita Willow divides her time between her Dad’s Ecuador apartment and her Mom’s Galapagos beach house. Hadley Wellington has all the access in the world to the prettiest makeup, the lead roles in anything and everything theatrical, and the most loyal admirers. Rita Willow has placed second in Ecuador national dance competitions for three years running.
Though unaware of Hadley’s existence, Hadley is someone Rita aspires to be. What Rita doesn’t know is the way Hadley’s stage parents treat her when she cracks a note, trips over a dance move, or-the deadliest sin of all-doesn’t land a role. Is it worth living in beautiful Ecuador when no one understands you, and you might have one shot to be a star? And is everything you’ve ever wanted worth it when it’s not really everything you’ve dreamed?
